How much does B2B website design cost? An honest breakdown

People often ask about design cost on its own, separate from the full build. It is a fair question, because design is where a lot of the value and a lot of the budget goes. So here is the honest version of what B2B website design costs, what you are actually paying for, and when a custom design is worth it over a template.

Design and development are not the same thing

Design is how the site looks and how it works for the visitor: the structure, the layout, the brand. Development is building it so it runs, loads fast and your team can edit it. People price the two separately, but for most B2B sites they come as one job, and that is usually better value than splitting them across two people who have to coordinate.

The short answer

For a professional B2B site in 2026, the ranges look like this:

  • Design only, delivered as a Figma file with no build: roughly $500 to $1,500, depending on how many page templates you need.
  • Design and build together, a focused landing page: from around $650.
  • Design and build together, a full business site: from around $1,800.

If you want the full picture of what a complete build costs and what moves it, I wrote a separate breakdown of B2B website cost.

What you are paying for in design

  • Structure and page flow so each page has one job and leads the visitor to the next step.
  • Visual design and brand that looks credible to a B2B buyer, not like a template everyone else uses.
  • Responsive layouts that hold up on a phone, where most of your visitors are.
  • A couple of revision rounds so the result is actually yours, not a take-it-or-leave-it mockup.

What moves the design price

  • Custom design versus a template. A design built around your brand and content costs more than adapting an existing theme, and it reads very differently to a serious buyer.
  • Number of unique page templates. Five similar pages are cheap. Five different layouts are five design jobs.
  • Whether you have a brand already. Working from an existing brand or Figma is faster than creating the look from scratch.
  • Revisions and stakeholders. One decision maker is quick. A committee who each want changes adds rounds, and rounds add cost.

Template versus custom design

A template is fine when you need to launch quickly, the budget is tight, and the site just has to look clean and work. Custom design earns its price when the site has to stand out, when credibility matters for the size of deal you close, or when a template cannot fit how you actually sell. For most B2B firms the honest answer is somewhere in between: a custom-feeling design built efficiently on a solid base.

Do you need a separate designer at all?

For a lot of B2B sites, no. Hiring a designer and a separate developer means two rates, two schedules, and a handover where things get lost. One person who designs and builds keeps it faster, cheaper, and consistent, because the design is made to be built, not thrown over a wall. That is how I build sites.

How I handle design

I implement from your Figma or existing brand, pixel-accurate, or design from scratch if you do not have one. Either way it is a fixed price agreed up front, with the design signed off before the build starts. The pricing page has the packages, and a short call is enough for me to give you a real number for your specific site.

Questions
Do I pay separately for design and development?

You can, but for most B2B sites they come together as one fixed price. Splitting them across two people usually costs more and adds a handover where detail gets lost. I design and build, so it stays one number and one timeline.

Should I get a custom design or a template?

A template is fine for a quick, clean launch on a tight budget. Custom design is worth it when the site has to stand out or when credibility matters for the deals you close. Most B2B firms do well with a custom-feeling design built efficiently, not a from-scratch art project.

Can you work from my existing Figma or brand?

Yes. I implement from Figma, XD or an existing brand system, closely and accurately. If there is no design, I can handle that stage too.

How many design revisions are included?

A couple of rounds are part of the job, so the result is genuinely yours. We agree the scope up front, and large changes that go beyond it get a short written note with their own price, so there is never a surprise.

Does better design actually bring more leads?

Up to a point, yes. Design that is clear, credible and easy to act on converts better than a cluttered or generic one. But design alone does not bring leads if the site is slow, invisible in search, or has no clear call to action. The design has to serve the business, not just look nice.
